Figured it was time for a new devID... THIS IS MY FACE.

I got a news lens yesterday! The nifty fifty, a full frame 50mm f/1.8 lens. I plan on using it a lot, should change my frame of mind.

The way you hold your camera next to your face gives the picture an almost intimate feeling. I guess as a photographer you do have some kind of relation to your camera and yours seems to show in the way you took this picture. It doesn't look like you're holding it to take a photograph but more to caress it.

Something that could be improved in my eyes is the composition. I think the picture would look more interesting if your face was on the far left and the white space on the right next to your camera and hand.

I like the focus of the picture, the blurry background creates a soft feeling. The fact that the door isn't vertical gives the picture some kind of dynamic and poses a nice contrast to the horizontal cam.

All in all, it's a great photo and an ideal deviantID.

it's a fantastic bit of glass, it really is.

Don't get the canon hood for it, though, just get an aftermarket one. It'll do the same job and cost about 1/10th the price. I made that mistake :(

Haha, thanks for the tip, I'm glad I didn't get that when the guy offered it :P. And yeah, I'm loving it so far.
